With the people around the world consuming a large amount of soft drinks every year, it has become very important to evaluate how these drinks can influence health of a person. Research has showed that even moderate consumption of these drinks can be dangerous and hazardous. Here are the 10 reasons that why we should avoid them:

  1. The Sugar!:- A can of soft drink contains the equivalent of 5 to 6 tablespoons of sugar . This quantity of sugar, especially in form of liquid, skyrockets the blood sugar & causes an insulin reaction in our body . This not-so-huge can of soft drink can lead to diabetes or insulin resistance. According to a research, the companies of soft drinks are the largest user of sugar in the world.

2):- Lack of Nutrients:- Soft drinks are unnatural substances. There is completely no nutritional value in soft drinks. Here is a proof. Did you see any “Healthy” substance like vitamins etc in it?

3):-Phosphoric Acid :- These soft drinks contain phosphoric acid. It interferes with the ability of body to absorb calcium & can lead to osteoporosis, cavities & softening of bones. Moreover, phosphoric Acid interacts with stomach acid, slows digestion &  blocks nutrient absorption as well.

It is actually be more harmful and hhelpin losing weight not at all. It os the reason of almost hundred of different health problems including emotional disorders, seizures, sclerosis, brain tumors, and diabetes. Aspartame converts to methanol at warm temperatures & methanol breaks down to formaldehyde & formic acid. Diet sodas/ soft drinks also increase the risk of metabolic syndrome. Thus, it causes belly fat, high blood sugar & raised cholesterol.

5). Caffeine:- Most of sodas/ soft drinks contain caffeine which is the main reason of  irregular heartlumps, cancers, breast lumps, high blood pressure & many other problems.

8):-. Extra Fructose:- Soft drinks contain High Fructose Corn Syrup which of course comes from corn. Most of such corn has been genetically modified, & there are no long term studies which show the safety of genetically modified crops, as genetic modification of crops has been around only since 1990s. And also the process of making abovesaid syrup involves traces of mercury. Thus, it causes a variety of long term health problems.

  1. Dehydration:- Owing to the high sugar, sodium & caffeine content in soft drinks, they dehydrate the body & can also cause chronic dehydration for a long period of time
